Mapping the journey
It is Sunday, a day of reflection and relaxation. It means watching re-runs of Bachelor Father, McHale's Navy, and The Jack Benny Show. After lapsing into nostalgia, I take a right into the sports world, catch up on scores, and news. Then, lunch. Crispy chicken and Southwest rice satisfy the taste buds. As the day winds down it is time to get into the truck and exit into the world of old highway maps. Here are some of the unique maps I have added to my collection in recent months.
Part of the Santa Fe Trail map, 1915
An excellent overview of the route that, in many parts, became Route 66.
I plan to add more, but for now back to the drawing board to figure out what older routes I plan to take in the future.
