A place to go bonanza over

Picture yourself along Interstate 35 East, caressing the outskirts of Denton, Texas. The afternoon is beginning to wind down and you are in dire search for a place to fill your engine. After taking exit 464 to US 77, turn right and head north. After parking your vehicle along the Square in downtown Denton, walk along North Elm Street and to the left you will find Cartwright's Ranch House. At first your thinking, is this the home of Ben, "Little Joe," "Hoss" and Adam? Unfortunately that is not the case, nonetheless, Cartwright's will provide you with a unique experience. Upon entering, as you look around at the spacious establishment, there are a plethora of signs that promote its Texas heritage as well as provide a nostalgic body tingle. Signs range from Fireman's Ale, which is brewed in Blanco in central Texas, to an old Polled Hereford sign. The ranchhouse, which opened in September 2011, was formerly a Ruby's Restaurant and it caters to anyone who enjoys home cooked food. While Cartwright's specialty is chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and cream corn, I was in the mood for the Bleu Cheese Hamburger. Placed perfectly between two buns and with a dose of ketchup, the burger was to die for.
As you wait for the food, there are two television screens sitting a top of the brick wall to choose from. Order a cold one with your chicken fried steak and you have the makings of a laid back meal that you will go bonanza for.
