A Friday evening meal at Joe's

"Just the facts ma'am."

As I entered Joe Friday's in Mexia, TX, 35 miles east of Waco at the intersection of US 84 and Texas state highways 171 and 14, I thought about what to write. Should I go with prose or just the facts? Well, I figure to against Joe Friday's grain and issue a combination. Joe's opened on October 16th, 2014 and the shop is entirely new, but that is where the youth ends.

As I opened the door, black and white porcelain tiles shined like a light in a dark cell. Red table tops with chrome legs and matching chairs set in checkered patterns decorate the interior. The tables were surrounded by an L shape array of booths that had a design similar to the logo for the movie Cars whereas the walls featured various Texas license plates, a few Chevrolet tailgates and Pepsi and Coca-Cola ads that offered nostaligmanics a glimpse during the days where soda pops were a nickel each.

The hamburger was well done, much to my palates desire and the sweet potato fries were addicting as well. The Dr. Pepper balanced everything out as the spirit was happy to take that trip down memory lane.
